STAR CHEF JAMES BARON

The leading British chef James Baron has held the reins as host and chef since the summer of 2022. James Baron cooks to the highest standard, deftly combining Alpine traditions with contemporary influences. Delicious, uncomplicated dishes throughout the day; delectable gourmet meals in the restaurant in the evening. The 37-year-old Briton has an impressive international career history and is a rising star in the trade. He served 700 guests to the highest standards every week with his team of 25 chefs in the Amber Restaurant in Hong Kong, one of the Top 50 restaurants in Asia and worldwide.

LA CHAVALLERA

Cooking is James Baron’s absolute passion, and he constantly strives to refine his art. In the newly designed restaurant La Chavallera (the “pack horse”), the star chef skilfully blends the culinary treasures of the Alps with fresh flavours from all over the world. The idea behind this goes back to the times of the old trading lifestyle; as depicted on an old mural in La Punt, on their route over the passes, the traders would share novel ideas and goods from the outside world with the people in the valleys in exchange for products from the villages.

CHILL IN THE SWISS STONE PINE LODGES

There are four different Swiss stone pine lodges, including the over 300-year-old Jahre old Stüvetta, which features a harmonious mix of Engadin cosiness and modern touches, all of which incite you to indulge yourself and relax. Depending on the time of day, a selection of delicious à-la-carte meals, tea and cakes or small snacks are served.

Fö e Flamma dal Barun

James Baron and his team are writing the culinary history of the Alps a little way into the future. The Fö e Flamma dal Barun invites you to enjoy a coffee and impresses with traditional dishes from the Alpine region. This new restaurant is on the opposite side of the street from the Krone. Traditional Alpine ingredients and dishes are reinterpreted in a creative and straightforward way. In a place where young and old, guests and locals feel at home. Where it's all about enjoyment, informally and at any time of day.
